5K race benefits MNCPPC & Boys and Girls Clubs. Also helps provide healthcare to underserved populations. We are looking for people who can cheer our runners on and direct them on the race course.
The events start with the Kids Fun Run at 8:15 am, followed by the 5K Race. The 5K race (3.1 miles) begins at the former 94th Aero Squadron at 5240 Paint Branch Parkway, and ends near the College Park Airport a few hundred feet away from the start. This flat, USATF certified course, features electronic timing and is designed for speed and setting personal records. Awards and refreshments to follow after the race near the finish.

Guests are invited and encouraged to head to the College Park Day Festival for Post-Race entertainment, additional food and beverages, kids activities, and more starting at 11:00am and just down the street from the start of the College Park Cares 5k. Description
Vecna Technologies believes in giving to the community. The employees are encouraged to spend approximately 10% of their paid time to volunteer in community service activities, and the company actively searches for new projects that are seeking volunteers. Since its inception in January of 1999, Vecna has logged over 10,000 hours of community service. Past projects which Vecna volunteered in include assisting in the restoration efforts of Woodlawn Cemetery in the northeastern quadrant of DC, maintaining the web page of University Park, Maryland, and building homes with Habitat for Humanity. We are currently sponsoring a 10k run on July 4 with the city of College Park to benefit the health care of some underprivileged PG county students.
