Emeritus at Beckett Meadows is hosting a garage sale to benefit the Alzheimer's Association. We need some extra hands and helpers to make this run smoothly. This opportunity will involve interacting with residents, facility managers, and members of the community. Possible jobs include: helping with the cashier desk, explaining pricing, and packing/bagging items. All money will go directly to the Alzheimer's Association so this is a great way to give back.

Description
Our Memory Care neighborhood is an assisted living facility where ~20 residents live, all with some type of dementia, mainly Alzheimer's Disease. We work to keep their independence and dignity with a variety of activities.
They enjoy all types of activities, especially entertainment from children or teenagers. The changes in cognition that our residents experience can be a challenge, but a are a great lesson for volunteers. After spending some time here, you learn to appreciate all the blessings that most people take for granted.
We welcome anyone to come spend time with our residents, and we are flexible with volunteer opportunities.
