- What a rare opportunity to assist with such an international event with over 90 countries represented!
- Parade Route Ambassadors will be stationed along the parade route for the Parade of Nations for the World Shoot competition, which will lead from the Lakeland Center to the Lake Mirror Prominade in Lakeland, FL.
Parade Route Monitors help to ensure the parade is a fun and safe experience for participants and spectators.
Responsible for ensuring spectators stay out of the parade path and do not throw anything into the street. Likewise, they also ensure that parade participants are not throwing anything into the crowd that would prompt them to run into the streets and report any observations of parade participants that may trip/fall or be suffering of exhaustion.
Ensure parade participants are not throwing or handing out ANY items that might cause the crowd to run into the parade path.
Ensure parade flow continues forward
Report any problems to Parade Route Zone Leader.- Each Country Coordinator is assigned to working with delegates of two countries to ensure they are in their designated area / line-up for the opening Parade of Nations event for the World Shoot International Competition.
- Additionally Country Coordinators will ensure that each Country is appropriately represented with having their Country's flag and signage for the parade.
- The parade is a Sunday evening event with the parade line-up/staging taking place at the Lakeland Center. on Sunday Oct. 12.
- The handgun competition for the World Shoot will actually take place elsewhere in the county on a different day. This event is to officially kick-off the festivities!
- Assignments are for Adults only and will involve working outdoors, standing/some walking.
- Being bi-lingual is not a requirement, however we are interested in identifying individuals who are bi-lingual, and the languages they speak.
- NOTE: Register NOW as would like to have volunteer recruitment complete by close of July 2014! There will be a required Vol Orientation/International Etiquette Training for this assignment for August 2014. Details to be announced - a couple of times/days options will be available for the Lakeland or Auburndale area.
- Volunteers will be provided with a t-shirt, lunch and refreshments during their service to this particular event.
- 10 Parade Route Monitors are needed for the Parade of Nations being held on Sunday Oct. 12 th from 3 p.m. - 6 p.m.
- Event is being coordinated through Polk County Tourism & Sports Marketing of the Polk County Board of County Commissioners.
