A Free Bird is a 501(C)(3)non-profit organization based in New York City. Our focus is to provide children, ages 4-18 who are patients or survivors of juvenile cancer, the opportunity to explore their artistic passions and give them the strength to fight their disease. We believe that artistic expression is critical for healing! A Free Bird supports children affected by cancer in their exploration of art, music, acting, poetry, writing, singing and any other artistic passion they may have.

We are seeking FOUR Volunteer Web Developers ASAP who can commit 15-20 hours per week to help finish our new A Free Bird organization website. Our need is for TWO Front End and TWO Back End web developers.

Required Skills:

Experience building websites in a team environment

Front End Developer Requirements:

2 years of experience in designing and developing single page application (SPA) using below technologies

Back End Developer Requirements:

2 years of experience in designing and developing Java/JEE applications. Have basic experience in RDBMS (Relational Database Management System) and the following:

Java
Spring
Gradle
JavaMail
MySQL
Apache Tomcat
MVC design pattern

Desired Skills:

Knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, and mobile web sites. Create clean maintainable code using primarily JSP, HTML, CSS and JavaScript . Knowledge of web standards and browser compatibility and experience with cross browser markup HTML and CSS
