We do so by analyzing scientific research and clinical evidence, gathering new evidence through data science and citizen science, and recommending to individuals optimal combinations of teas, tinctures, and powders that can be used to achieve each individual's mental health goals. We conduct this research with the goal of allowing people to make informed decisions about their health and to increase access to healthy stress-coping alternatives. These healthy coping mechanisms can reduce reliance on harmful self-medication practices such as alcohol abuse or behavior likely to lead to opioid addiction. Value Proposition: Tinctures, teas and powders from herbal medicine combinations can represent better risk/reward ratios Through citizen science and data science over time we have the aspirational goal to meet and exceed evidence parity with regards to evidence of effectiveness for herbal medicines for stress & anxiety compared with pharmaceuticals. That mission is attractive for people to participate in as its an opportunity for global collaboration to create increasingly usable natural medicine for stress and anxiety. Each person can go upstream of their mental health challenges and adopt healthier coping mechanisms. The only way CrowdDoing.world can realize its impact potential is through virtual volunteers, service learners(http://blog.reframeit.com/service-learning-and-skilled-volunteering/), and micro-leaders (https://real-leaders.com/leveraging-micro-leadership-to-make-aspirational-goals-achievable/) coming together. It's Flexible! We'll work with your schedule

TeleHealth Access for Seniors is a 501(c)(3) non-profit with a mission to provide seniors and low-income communities with devices, instructions, and free tech-support to connect them to their physicians via TeleHealth, friends and family using digital connectivity, and wellness tools via apps. We recognized that many seniors and low-income communities lacked devices for TeleMedicine appointments and connecting with their families, so we began collecting old devices to provide those patients via their physicians. We have now donated over 1100 devices across 26 states and raised over $50,000. Our team has over 300 volunteers already. The commitment involves collecting devices and funds for devices and potentially being involved with other parts of our mission like free tech-support and guides for seniors. We're specifically looking for more volunteers in Illinois, Arkansas, West Virginia, Virginia, Washington, Arizona, Pennsylvania, and California! Check out our website at telehealthforseniors.org

  • BATTLE BUDDY Hospice Volunteer

    This is a virtual opportunity
    Sun, October 11, 2020 - Thu, December 31, 2020

VIRTUAL BATTLE BUDDY until we can once again visits our VETERANS in person We have many patients who are veterans and we would like to have volunteers who are veterans visit them. You would be assigned a veteran to visit. Weekly phone visits of about 1 hour or less is typically what is needed to establish a connection and provide support to your battle buddy. Veterans will often not open up to civilians (even family members) but they will to other veterans. Battle Buddies provide our veterans with a much needed friend, someone who understands. In addition, we provide specialized Ceremonies to our veterans as a way of honoring the service they gave to our country. Battle Buddies will gather information on the veterans service so we can read it at the ceremony. We also have special lapel pins and certificates for the veteran which the volunteer can present. We are currently providing virtual ceremonies. This is a great way to honor veterans. Veterans often need other Veterans to talk with, they understand the language and provide a "safe place" to discuss issues. Please consider sharing your time with our veterans. They served us, let's serve them. Please contact me at Capital Caring, kknoble@capitalcaring.org or 703-333-6958. Thank you!

  • PHONE CALLS for patients/families during COVID-19

    This is a virtual opportunity
    Sun, October 11, 2020 - Thu, December 31, 2020

Covid- 19 has caused isolation for all of us. Those especially at risk are our hospice patients and their families. We are in need of volunteers to become hospice volunteers who are willing to make phone call "visits" to patients and their families. A simple check in of a friendly voice makes all the difference in the world. Perhaps read a short story over the phone or read some jokes. These calls will connect the volunteer to patients/families in need of a friend. Be a compassionate phone visitor to a person with a life-limiting illness. Capital Caring Health needs dedicated volunteers to provide companionship and socialization to hospice patients by phone during Covid 19 and hopefully volunteers will want to continue in person visits once safety measures have been established. Must be a good listener. May involve chatting, hearing life stories, reading to a patient. Volunteers needed any day of the week. Volunteer will be asked to provide about 1- 2 hours a week. Orientation and ongoing support provided. Come join a team of supportive professionals who value our volunteers tremendously. You will find a home here with the Alexandria Capital Caring Health Team. Please contact Katherine Knoble at kknoble@capitalcaring.org or 703-333-6958 or 703-309-0289. Thank you.

    Sun, September 20, 2020 - Tue, September 20, 2022

Solano Volunteers, a Solano County program implemented by Center for Volunteer & Nonprofit Leadership (CVNL), coordinates volunteers during disasters, and coordinates resources to aid disaster relief and recovery efforts. Long-term recovery from disasters takes time, money, strong partnerships and dedicated volunteer effort, and CVNL stands ready to facilitate the provision of resources to those who need it most. Solano Volunteers has a special role in the event of a local disaster, and we are looking for community members to raise their hands and volunteer to be a part of our Diaster Response team. Disaster Response volunteers are trained before disaster strikes in order to better handle responsibilities placed upon them. All volunteers receive training to enable active involvement in an Emergency Volunteer Center and Disaster Call Center. Based on interest, volunteers may then take additional training for Supervisory and Leadership roles. Duties May Include: Registering, interviewing and matching spontaneous disaster volunteers to appropriate assignments Providing information to residents Providing safety briefings as needed Recording hours, tracking volunteer data, tracking donations, and helping out with logistics as needed Duties do not include strenuous physical activity Qualifications: Ability to work with people Honest and reliable Upon completion of the online training, disaster volunteers are asked for a one-year commitment where they stay ready to respond to a disaster in Solano County Drills and exercises will be conducted annually so volunteers can stay sharp and ready-to-serve when called upon.
