We have a great need for donated furnishings and people interested in helping deliver the furniture and help set up an apartment for a newly arrived refugee family. • Co-Sponsor a Refugee Family (Home Setup & Support)

    This is a virtual opportunity
It's Flexible! We'll work with your schedule

LSSNCA ensures that each of our refugee families are provided a home furnished and supplied with all essentials upon arrival in the U.S. The same applies to Special Immigrant Visa (SIV) holders arriving from Afghanistan. Upon arrival, refugee families are enrolled in the Reception and Placement (R&P) program of the U.S. State Department. Through this program, families are granted $1,175 per individual for the material means of the family (rent, furnishings, groceries, clothing, etc.). This grant is meant to last an individual for the R&P period of 90 days from arrival - after which, all eligible adults should be employed and the family successfully financially self-sufficient. Of course, we understand that this amount is often not enough to live on for three months. Therefore, LSSNCA relies heavily on the support of groups and faith communities , like yourselves, for co-sponsorship of our families (Good Neighbor Partners) and donations. https://bit.ly/RemoteRefugeeSupport Please note: We are located in the Washington, DC Metro area.

Please view ISA's website at: isupportadoptions.org I launched a new and improved website and have a Facebook page linked to it. I need help updating the photos, etc., and layout of the FB page and coming up with relevant pics or topics to post about. My volunteer would ideally make suggestions about how to reach new people and grow interest. Facebook (and the blog on our website) will be our main way to reach the adoption community, those wanting a grant or donating to one. Looking forward, I'll need help maintaining the ISA Facebook in the future and am interested in an "administrator". • Online Volunteers Needed - Raise Awareness of Anti-Home-Fraud Booklet

    with HGRBS
    This is a virtual opportunity
    Mon, October 5, 2020 - Fri, November 27, 2020

Local - State - National Requirements Aside from being a U.S. citizen, 18 years of age or over... .... Honorable Very comfortable with online opportunities. Passionately against home improvement fraud. Ready, willing, and able to share information against the same. Description This opportunity is exclusively online from anywhere you are in US. The free downloadable homeowner’s anti-home-fraud guide is the HGRBS "Service Booklet." It contains links and other vital information which can help private home residents decide better about building tradespersons (such as home improvement contractors). There is no fee or sign-up requirements in order for residents to access and download. The nonprofit is a free consumer information service. It realizes that a main reason residents are defrauded is that we do not know how to prevent it. The Service Booklet has 2 basic function s to help remedy this shortage of reliable preventative information: 1. increasing awareness among private home residents to enable us to make safer decisions about those we hire. 2. ins piring the same to more self-empowerment for learning how to accurately distinguish between good and bad contractors. Volunteers are always needed to spread the word about the Service Booklet to more residents. Your part would be to volunteer online sharing one email (not batches) to each different community association you think would be most receptive to sharing the information about it with other residents. The online service area you choose could be local, state, or national. You choose the range of community associations you serve for sending each an email about the Service Booklet. If you are fine with just local community associations - so be it. There are no commitments. Volunteers can do our part spreading the news about the booklet once, or several times. If you would like more information about the nonprofit’s pro-private home values before making a decision, please browse: HGRBS. But if you are already decided on touching bases to get more details on this social opportunity please feel free to connect with HGRBS Special Assignments for more details via Volunteermatch clearance. • Looking for a talented Website Designer for Fundraiser

    This is a virtual opportunity
    Tue, October 13, 2020 - Sat, October 31, 2020

Good Day, We are looking for a website designer to assist with our current website/blog and Click Funnel for Houston Birthing Connection teen pregnancy assistance program. Please feel free to use use your own creativity for design but I have the content files for the Click Funnels to earn funds for our fundraiser. I will provide a letter of volunteer hours upon completion. Please check to see if your company is listed to double the donation for our non profit. If not its ok we still need you. We have come to realize that those struggling to choose a better life for themselves fail to identify the cause of their troubles. And that is what we aspire to help teens with- our goal is to help such teenagers pinpoint the cause of their struggle and work to nullify it, so they can create the happy life and family that they have never seen or experienced. The Houston Birthing Connection believes on working on the principles of faith and the good will of man kind. I founded this pregnancy assistance program back in 2008 by putting into action the faith. It has led me to truly feel the pain that these kids go through throughout their lives whether it be because of the abuse within their families or having to abandon their education because of pregnancy crises. Hence i let my faith take charge and guide me on this path of empowering teen parents to rise from the rubble of their struggles and experience the joy of living a life of faith and joy. Our program wishes to provide these deserving young parents with all the resources they need in order to establish a joyful life. We wish to help them go through a comfortable pregnancy, have healthy deliveries, and enjoy a blissful life with their children. We assist them by providing all the academic, social, and psychological support they need along with allowing them to achieve their education with a high head. By training and supporting these young parents through the difficult role of parenthood, we hope to carry out the work of God and help these teens attain the happiness they deserve. We are in need of a website designer to assist us in getting a website/ Click Funnel going. We currently us a Wix.com account.

  • Virtual Bible Study

    This is a virtual opportunity
    Thu, October 15, 2020 - Sun, December 20, 2020

Kids are not taught about the Bible. Not only is the Bible food for the spirit, it is essential to understand references. If you have a passion to help children and adults learn about the Word of God, this opportunity may be for you. It is a problem I see everywhere. i was tutoring a 6th grader by having her read O'Henry...a classic. A reference to Solomon, the Magi, and the Queen of Sheba went right over her head. She had never heard of any of them. She said she had a little Bible, but she never read it. I find this with all the students I tutor. They know Greek, Egyptian and Roman mythology, but have no idea what is in the Bible. Can we start a Bible Study for children? Now that many are home or at least know how to use Zoom, we can provide classes during the week and/or on weekends. These classes will, I hope, give children a general overview of the Bible while wakening their spirits. Hopefully they will be able to interact with other children and have fun while learning. Parents will also be welcome and encouraged to attend with their children. To do this we need some volunteers. Children and adults are welcome to help out. 1. To pray 2. To research and ask around to find teachers, curriculum, fun videos, or anything that might engage a child's attention that do not cost a whole lot. 3. To organize the zoom meetings--times and time zones 4. To advertise so kids and parents will know that these are going on 5. Maybe to raise money so that we can advertise on Youtube kids, purchase curriculum, or whatever we are led. 6. To pray for the children and their needs and teach them to pray for themselves and one another.

The Harraseket Foundation is interested in help in putting together a short video to promote its career program for high school and college students. We are interested in using clips from Zoom videos that we're recording to put them into a 3-10 minute video with soundtrack and titles. It doesn't need to be super-professional, but should be usable in the small communities in which Harraseeket operates. The videos would be used to recruit young people to join Harraseeket's programs, which focus on career and life development issues inside local community organizations. So the videos should be appealing to high school and college students. We have one specific video in mind that we'd like to make late this month and early next month; there might be others we'd be interested in after that. The video would be put on YouTube. The skills sets checked may not all be necessary (just guessing as to what's required!) We're in Virginia, but happy to work across time zones. Thank you!
