This will be an exciting and diverse project management position as it will involve coordinating high-tech development through to production and then from production distribution. There is no total time requirement, but it is expected that the project manager will keep on top of the information flow so as information is made available in a timely way. The project manager will be aware how critical this information is for such a complex and extensive project. This opportunity is only available to those who have had previous project management experience or have had extensive studies and are willing to make up the difference of their lack of experience with a solid effort. It has as a mandate the protection, promotion and the enforcement of the rights of refugees, migrants, asylum seekers and IDPs as enshrined in International Law to which Cameroon is a Signatory. According to the UN Refugee Agency, Cameroon hosts over 200,000 refugees and asylum seekers from 26 countries. The challenge in realizing their rights cannot be left in the hands of the Cameroon government alone or the UN Refugee Agency. Indigenous initiatives like REWAC are indispensable to complement efforts made by other international development partners and governments to address the challenges posed by these group of vulnerable persons. It is therefore incumbent on us to raise the necessary financial resources from relevant donor organizations to address these challenges. Volunteers are not allowed to contact donors on our behalf. We shall give them a list of potential donors for them to develop winning proposals to be submitted by our organization to the various donors on specific issues.

    This is a virtual opportunity
It's Flexible! We'll work with your schedule

Development Officer Chemists Without Borders is a non-profit, international humanitarian organization working on solving humanitarian problems in a number of countries using the expertise of chemists and others. In Bangladesh, for example, we are working with high schools to educate students on the health hazards of arsenic in drinking water. In two of those schools, we have been able to raise funds to replace their wells contaminated with arsenic. This project brought safe water to about 4000 students. We have also developed a Health Education Course for Bangladesh elementary and secondary students. We now have a model that we think could solve the arsenic contamination of drinking water nationwide, and we are working to validate it in one high school district. We are also developing chemistry kits using small quantities of chemicals for high school students in Sierra Leone. This will allow schools without a laboratory to still do science experiments. Our latest project, our Biochar Project, is the promotion of a technology that will combat global warming and climate change. It will also enable farmers to make their crops more resistant to drought. We are starting to promote this technology to developing countries. We have many other projects and could do much more with your help. We are in need of a Development Officer who could help us bring in the funding to continue and expand this work. It's Flexible! We'll work with your schedule

RightBoot is looking for a volunteer to help us create a communications toolkit we can share with our partners to help inform them and their stakeholders about the environmental impact of unsolicited disaster relief donations. The donor education aspect of eliminating waste in humanitarian aid is possibly the most important piece of what RightBoot does. In 2013 when typhoon Yolanda hit the Philippines, USAID and the Center for International Disaster Information (CIDI) had enough time to send out guidance concerning donations to corporations, humanitarian organizations, and media outlets. According to those organizations surveyed after the disaster had wound down, the only identifiable unwanted aid was one palette of candy brought over by the US military. Connecting with as many people as possible is a major milestone in preventing unwanted and inappropriate donations flooding in to disaster-affected areas during their time of greatest vulnerability. The ideal kit will be simple to implement and cover all the bases that any local community organization might use to communicate with their constituents. Deliverables include: "How To Use" guide e-mail templates Social media content images formatted for the platform (Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, etc) Copy suggestions FAQ's and quick facts sheet PDF Contact solutions@rightboot.org for more info Join us and help the world Donate Better!

  • COVID-19 support: Help Crowdfundraising campaign to feed and educate children

    This is a virtual opportunity
    Tue, October 20, 2020 - Mon, November 30, 2020

Hello Friends, COVID-19 has made an unprecedented harshness in human history that requires humanity save itself as a single family. Situation is such now that we need to share our bread with the other. CHALLENGE: The present crisis threatens everyone's life, but it has devastated the lives of the poor who are already vulnerable living in extreme poverty. India is still registering a high per day COVID-19 infections. Survival itself is threatening the poor children now. We work among the most neglected and ignored indigenous and dalit communities in Kurnool district - the most chronic drought hit district s in Andhra Pradesh. Due to severe and continuous droughts, children are the victims of child labourers, child marriages and human trafficking. In our working with the communities for the last 2 years, we could rescue 167 child labourers and started giving literacy crash courses after which they will be mainstreamed with regular schooling. COVID-19 lock down has pushed the poorest families into extreme poverty due to lack of daily wage labours, on which they have been depending on. Now, survival itself has become a threat to the children and their families. This project comes with two definite impacts: 1. The poor children get healthy food and escape malnutrition. A healthy kid ensures healthy community 2. By continuing the crash courses/ literacy centers, we put an end to child labourers. This project ensures educated generation. The project breaks chronic poverty. A healthy community is the result. We will recognize every volunteer with a special recognition certificate.
