Wildfires are devastating communities across California, causing more than 300,000 people to evacuate their homes and threatening many more. The Mission of The Artist in Me is to provide Visual Arts programming,, Arts & Crafts, Graphic Arts and illustration training with the opportunity to get certified, to help low income, the distressed, underprivileged to provide job skills to lift them out of poverty to create jobs in our community to inspire, engage and challenge our community to do more with their lives and to make them look at the world in a whole new way
Our purpose is something other than making a profit. We are dedicated to serving our low income, at risk, underprivileged, distressed, children, youth, and adults in becoming all they can be and exposing them to fine arts programming, certifiable job skills programming in our small rural community. We hope once we get funding, to expand to be able to take in the whole of Cherokee County, Texas . Their personal growth is our goal. We will use surplus revenue to further our cause and invest in different kinds of creative programming. We are a community nonprofit with a goal of bettering our community, fostering economic growth. We have an executive board of directors and are working on getting an advisory committee which I am filling now and we will have to staff with as many volunteers as possible. The staff that will be paid will be upper management and full time staff. We will be relying on grants from foundations and corporations, fundraisers, donors, and local businesses.
