The mission of the Evanston Public Library is to promote the development of independent, self-confident, and literate citizens through the provision of open access to cultural, intellectual, and informational resources.

Description

The Evanston Public Library (EPL), located in Evanston, Illinois, has three locations: the Main Library at 1703 Orrington Ave, the North Branch at 2026 Central Street, and the South Branch at 949 Chicago Avenue. We have nearly 500,000 items, receive over 665,000 visits a year, and answer over 170,000 reference questions; in person, by phone, email and text. We offer free computer basics classes, career counseling, an African American book discussion group,and hundreds of free events and activites for adults, teens and children every year.Our book sale, Reference service, Teen Loft and children's room have all won local or national awards.
