Mission Statement

The DuPage Homeownership Center will be a leader and a resource in educating and empowering individuals to be successful homeowners through the use of innovative programming and partnerships. The DuPage Homeownership Center (DHOC) is a nonprofit organization that provides a full range of services to promote responsible sustainable homeownership, with an emphasis on serving first-time home buyers, low-and-moderate income households and homeowners in crisis.

Description

The DuPage Homeownership Center is a nonprofit, HUD-certified housing counseling agency serving DuPage County, Illinois.

DHOC is certified by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to provide prepurchase and default counseling. We also have counselors on staff who are certified to provide reverse mortgage counseling as members of the HUD-HECM National Counseling Network.

DHOC has NCHEC certified Financial Literacy Coaches who provide group workshops as well as one-on-one counseling sessions. DHOC's certified Financial Literacy coaches can help families to establish/maintain their budget, learn to be smart shoppers, to understand as well as rebuild credit, and how to protect your assets.
