Mission Statement

The purpose of the "Disabled

American Veterans Auxiliary" shall be to

uphold and maintain the Constitution and laws

of the United States; to realize the true American

ideals and aims for which those eligible for

Disabled American Veterans membership

fought; to advance the interests and work for

the betterment of all wounded, injured, and

disabled veterans; to cooperate with all patriotic

organizations and public agencies devoted

to the cause of improving and advancing the

condition, health and interest of wounded, injured

or disabled veterans and their families; to

stimulate a feeling of mutual devotion, helpfulness

and comradeship among all members

and to encourage in all people that spirit of understanding

which will guard against future

wars.

Description

ELIGIBILITY FOR MEMBERSHIP

Section 1: The spouse, surviving spouse,

parents, siblings, children, grandparents,

grandchildren and great grandchildren of any

person eligible (or any deceased person who

was eligible) for Disabled American Veterans

membership are eligible for membership in the

Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary.

Section 2: Children, grandchildren and great

grandchildren of members of the Auxiliary who

are not otherwise eligible for membership are

eligible for membership in the Disabled American

Veterans Auxiliary.

Section 3: Any person who is eligible for

membership in the Disabled American Veterans

is also eligible for membership in the Disabled

American Veterans Auxiliary.

A member eligible for membership in both

the parent organization and the Disabled

American Veterans Auxiliary shall not be eligible

to vote nor hold any office (elective or appointive)

and/or chairmanship in the Auxiliary

while holding an office (elective or appointive)

and/or chairmanship in the Disabled American

Veterans.

Section 4: The spouse, surviving spouse,

parents, siblings, children, grandparents,

grandchildren and great grandchildren of any

person who was injured or disabled while serving

with any of the armed forces of the nations

associated with the United States of America

and therefore eligible for membership in the

Disabled American Veterans and who was honorably

discharged and who became an American

citizen, are also eligible.

Section 5: The surviving spouse, parents, siblings,

children, grandparents, grandchildren

and great grandchildren of any person who

has since died of injury, wounds or disability

received in eligible service as in Section 1

above are eligible for membership in the Auxiliary.

Section 6: The Disabled American Veterans

Auxiliary shall not have honorary members.
