STRATEGIES TO ELEVATE PEOPLE RICHMOND

Description

Since STEP Richmond was established in 1983, it has been clear that the issues of poverty in American cities could not be satisfied by money alone. The greatest need of the poor is not money, but people willing to make a personal investment in their lives - people who provide friendship, which encourages the downtrodden, connects the disenfranchised, gives voice to the powerless, believes in the hopeless; friendship driven by compassion, not compensation. Through ministries of education, employment, and enrichment, STEP endeavors to provide that friendship to individuals in the Gilpin Court community.
