Mission Statement

Mission: The Mentor Connector provides professionally supported one-to-one relationships that encourage young people to make positive choices, maximize their potential and enable them to change their lives for the better. Values: WE VALUE PEOPLE: At the Mentor Connector we respect the dignity, uniqueness, and intrinsic worth of every person. We celebrate that we are all different and seek to empower each staff person, mentor, mentee, or volunteer to achieve his or her goals. WE VALUE TRANSPARENCY: We strive to work with integrity and be transparent about our finances, decisions, goals, and actions. WE VALUE QUALITY: We continuously work to have the highest standards in safety, training, program management, and evaluation. WE VALUE FUN: We will have fun in all we do. If we are not having fun, we are not doing it right.

Description

Having Fun Changes Lives. At The Mentor Connector, everything we do revolves around fun. We create programs, spaces and activities with fun in mind. Each one of us is built to have fun. Our sensory system is designed to enjoy life and seek fun. If we are willing, we can find fun in every activity we do. Fun can even be discovered within life’s menial tasks, like school. Fun is not the absence of learning, learning is fun. When we realize that we can find fun and enjoyment throughout our day, we ignite a passion for creativity, purpose, and belonging.

Vision:

  • Every child in Vermont who wants or needs a mentor will have one.
  • We will establish ourselves as a model program striving for excellence in all we do.
  • We will support program youth to develop skills and assets to be successful, productive members of society.
  • We will work to empower youth within the community and create an inherent culture of mentoring so that the community actively and enthusiastically is engaged with and fosters mentoring.
