Mission Statement

The J. Robert Oppenheimer Memorial Committee is dedicated to honoring the memory of noted physicist Robert Oppenheimer and his significant contributions to Los Alamos, the nation and the world.

Description

The JROMC comprises twenty-five members from various walks of life, some long-term residents of the Los Alamos, NM, area, others more recent, all dedicated to furthering the memory and spirit of J. Robert Oppenheimer.

The Committee administers a number of scholarships (nine, most years) to promising, college-bound high school graduates in the Northern New Mexico area. In addition, the JROMC sponsors the annual Oppenheimer Memorial Lecture, meant to enrich the lives of area residents by presenting thoughts from a compelling and notable speaker.
