Mission Statement

It is the mission of the Golden Empire Council and the Yolo District to provide quality values-based character education for the youth of California's heartland. The Trailblazer District goals are to supply the program to as many youth as possible by creating partnerships with schools and churches and other community organizations. The district helps these organizations with membership drives, fundraising events and district wide programs. The district also trains adult volunteers to deliver the promise of Scouting to the youth of Solano County.

Description

The Boy Scouts of America offers several different programs for todays youth.

  • Cub Scouting is a family and home-centered program for boys ages 7 - 10
  • Boy Scouting, the flagship program, is for boys ages 11-18 designed to achieve BSA objectives through a vigorous outdoor program and peer group leadership with adult counsel.
  • Venturing is a program for coed, teenage groups that focuses on outdoor and hobby actvities as well as peer leadership
  • Exploring is for young men and women ages 14-20. It provides realistic opportunities to explore career choices and other vocational opportunities.
