Puget Sound Training Center (PSTC) is a private non-profit community based organization providing human services to individuals needing assistance to develop their skills to enter into the employment world. PSTC is located at 270 SW 43 rd Street, Renton, Washington, serving King County. PSTC offers customized skills training programs to meet the needs of our funding agencies, public and private industry. Our funding comes from private contracts and grants. PSTC has developed partnerships with the education, government, public and private community to meet the continuing needs of these communities in King County. CORE EDUCATION & TRAINING COURSES Educational and Training courses are integrated to maximize the learning benefits for the individuals. Each training course is designed for a short-term training period in-order to provide employment opportunity for the individuals as soon as possible. PSTC'S courses are 4-8 weeks in duration. Our training is geared toward the Warehouse and Distribution Industry
The programs at Puget Sound Training Center are designed to provide customized skills training in the following areas: Ø Customer Accounts Representative/Computer Training: this programs includes but is not limited to basic computer, key boarding, telephone/Customer Service, Data Entry, Vocational ESL Ø Forklift Training/Certification: this program includes the following subjects but is not limited to OSHA regulations, Hands on Training, Forklift Safety, and Vocational ESL. Ø Order Selection/Warehouse Distribution Training: this program includes but is not limited to an introduction to Warehouse/Distribution, Safety in the workplace, Receiving and shipping of product, Palletizing/Shrink Wrapping, Order Selection. Ø Job search/Life skills Workshops. This workshop is designed to provide job search techniques and the necessary knowledge and skills required to enter our labor market.
