Initially the volunteer program seemed good, but the hands on phone training was not what I expected for those with little to no experience. The phone trainer kept canceling training sessions and trained with another trainee. When I would do my training sessions, I would get negative feedback. It seems the organization was more interested in working with volunteers enrolled in local MFT graduate programs. It was quite disappointing and I ended up leaving. Honestly, if one is trying to get volunteer experience before applying to graduate school especially in social work, I would look elsewhere.
