Mission Statement

NC GreenPower is an independet nonprofit improving North Carolina's environment by supporting renewable energy, carbon offset projects and providing grants for educational solar PV installations at K-12 schools.

Description

Headquartered in Raleigh, North Carolina, NC GreenPower is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit whose mission is to improve the quality of the environment in North Carolina through a statewide program that connects consumers with green energy and carbon offset providers. We also provide grants for solar installations at K-12 schools. Contributions are given by individuals and businesses either directly to us, or through their utility.

The NC GreenPower Speakers Bureau was created to help carry the message of our mission to all corners of North Carolina. Our volunteers assist us in staffing outreach event for us and providing free presentations to any group, business or organization that has an interest in learning more about clean energy alternatives, carbon offsets and their benefits. The Speakers Bureau also strives to increase participation in the NC GreenPower program, providing economic, environmental, and health benefits to all citizens of North Carolina.

Training sessions are periodically held for new volunteers. These sessions include tips about presenting, speaking points regarding the program, and instructions for using the speaker toolkit, provided at no cost.

NC GreenPower has a powerful message, a great volunteer coordinator and staff and works with its volunteers to really make them feel competent and appreciated. Have been on countless volunteer events and presentations and love the people who get involved and the passion we share about energy independence and green power sources. Smart, thoughtful people who want to leave a positive legacy of caring for the environment and making a difference today should signup and become involved in whatever capacity they can from donating on their electric bill to the speakers' bureau. It's so easy!
