The mission of the BGCAA is to inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as responsible, productive, and caring citizens.

Description

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Annapolis & Anne Arundel County (BGCAA) was founded more than twenty years ago in Annapolis by a group of concerned community members who felt there was a need for neighborhood youth to have a positive place to grow, learn and have fun. The Club currently operates in five locations throughout Anne Arundel County. Bywater, the first Club in Anne Arundel County, is located in Annapolis along with Admiral Oaks and Wiley H. Bates. There are two county Clubs - Meade Village is located in Severn, and Freetown Village is located in Pasadena. BGCAA is a part of the national Boys & Girls Clubs of America movement that serves some 4.2 million boys and girls at some 4,000 Club locations in every state and overseas locations. Each Club provides a broad range of programs for youth ages 6-18 in five core areas: Character and Leadership, Education and Career, Health and Life Skills, The Arts, and Sports, Fitness and Recreation. The programs help kids develop their character, leadership skills, and goal-setting skills, among many other valued attributes.
