Beverly M. Burton Scholarship Trust

Mission Statement

The Mission of the Beverly M. Burton Scholarship Trust is to raise money to endow the Trust so that it will provide a $10,000 scholarship, presented annually, to the recipient of the Youth of the Year Award in the state of Alabama. This Award is selected by the Boys & Girls Club and the scholarship money is sent to the recipient's designated school of higher education. This Trust is a charitable, non-profit 501 c (3) supporting organization to the Boys & Girls Club. This Trust, set up by the Burton family, is in memory of Beverly Burton who volunteered with the Boys & Girls Club for 25 years before her tragic death on January 28, 2006, in a plane crash when returning from a speaking engagement on behalf of the Boys & Girls Club.
