Only at the Metal Museum can you see works of art, see artists work, learn the craft, and craft the art.

The Museum's permanent collection, displayed periodically, numbers more than 3,000 objects some as many as 500 years old. The Museum's library contains many rare and 1st edition books-some dating from the 17th century, and some having illustrations overlaid in real gold.

The Schering-Plough Smithy and Lawler Foundry are both located at the rear of the grounds. Both are full-time fully operational balcksmith shop and foundry.

Finally, the Museum offers practical metworking education for any level of interest. Plus the Museum participates in the A.C.T. program through ArtsMemphis and this program reaches over 90,000 underserved students yearly.
