The 2018 hurricane season has been extraordinarily active in parts of the U.S., with Hurricane Florence currently impacting millions in the Carolinas. As this natural disaster unfolds, the staff here at VolunteerMatch is doing its part to ensure that, if you are in an affected community, you are prepared and safe. And if you are looking to help with disaster relief efforts, you know about the most effective ways to contribute.
To rescue at-risk children and youth by supporting, educating, and providing them with a safe place to live, grow, and learn about Christ.
G.R.O.W. started in the fall of 2009 with a vision to come alongside two extraordinary women who had taken in at-risk children in Thailand with no means of support or ideas of how to make it happen - other than to pray and trust in God to provide. On a trip to Thailand, Pastor Ivanildo Trindade met Faa, and she shared her passion for children who are victims of physical and sexual abuse in Thailand. Later, Faa came to the U.S. and a board of directors who also shared Faa’s passion was assembled. In October of 2009 G.R.O.W was formed!
Seven years later we are still praying and trusting God to provide. We have seen him do "immeasurably more than we could ask or imagine" (Ephesians 3:20):
We prayed for God to bring us more than two children in the home; He has given us nine!
We prayed for a safer mode of transportation for the children other than a scooter; He gave us a brand new truck with a cap!
We prayed for God to provide better living conditions for the children; He has miraculously given us a temporary "dream house" for very reasonable rent.
We prayed that God would provide $125,000 in just a few month to purchase land in Wiang Pa Pao; We now own that land debt free!
G.R.O.W. currently supports 2 homes in Wiang Pa Pao, Thailand with 7 staff members and 23 children. The U.S. base of operations is in Wooster, OH.
