The mission of The Hospice of the Florida Suncoast is to: - Provide dignified, quality comfort care that enhances the lives of dying people and their families - Assure the long-term mental, spiritual, physical health and general well-being of survivors after loss - Lead and influence the health and human services community in the care of all people affecte by end-of-life issues - Shape public opinion and policy on issue related to death, dying, grief and bereavement.
Description
The Hospice of the Florida Suncoast was founded more than 20 years ago by a group of concerned volunteers who were dedicated to improving end-of-life care for patients and families in Pinellas County, Florida. The Hospice has grown into the largest nonprofit agency of its kind, serving more than 1,200 patients daily.The Hospice offers a comprehensive program of medical care, counseling, spiritual support and other services to the people of its community regardless of race, age, faith, diagnosis or ability to pay. The Hospice is supported by more than 2,000 deeply committed volunters, whose work is essential to the organization's vitality and success.
