National Volunteer Week 2021 Is Here!
Celebrate with us as we highlight #ArtAsActivism!
The mission of the Children's Center for the Visually Impaired (CCVI) is to prepare children with visual impairments, including those with multiple disabilities, to reach their highest potential in the sighted world.
Founded in 1952 as the Kansas City Nursery School for the Blind, we began as an educational facility addressing the needs of infants and children with visual impairments. In 1982, we officially became known as Children's Center for the Visually Impaired. With strong support from the community and help from local corporations, foundations, volunteers, and donors, we’ve helped thousands of children and their families in the Greater Kansas City area.
