Mission Statement
To improve living conditions and reduce unnecessary suffering in rural Africa through education and compassionate health care. Implicit to every project that we undertake is the understanding that it will ultimately be sustainable with little or no outside assistance, and that it will be accomplished free of the imposition of any foreign social, political, or spiritual values.
Description
Engeye is a 501(c)3 non-profit health organization that operates a rural health care clinic in southern Uganda. The clinic operates thanks to a collaboration between the villagers of Ddegeya Village, where the clinic resides, and physicians, public health enthusiasts and students in the U.S.
Open every day but Sunday, Engeye clinic has local nurses and a clinic manager in charge, with periodic traveling medical teams and volunteers lending a hand and furthering the clinic's mission and standard of care in the region.
From education to health care to fun, Engeye is comprised of a dedicated, flexible and open-minded group of people willing to sacrifice and join together to improve living conditions for a village that has no other advocates.
Thank you for considering the journey with us!
