Mission Statement

The mission of the Greater Baltimore HIV Health Services Planning Council is to provide comprehensive, high quality services to PLWH/As in the greater Baltimore eligible metropolitan area (EMA) regardless of their ability to pay.

Description

The planning council is a 40-member, all-volunteer body, appointed by the mayor of Baltimore City. The council is responsible for:

-Conducting consumer needs assessments and identifying service needs of people living with HIV and AIDS (PLWH/As) in the Baltimore EMA.

-Setting priorities for the allocation of federal HIV/AIDS service dollars under the Ryan White Program, Part A.

-Evaluating the efficiency of the administrative mechanism designated by the mayor to distribute Ryan White Program funds and follow planning council priorities.

-Developing a comprehensive plan for delivering HIV services to PLWH/As.

-Assuring community participation.
