The World Trade Center Institute ( WTCI ) organizes and designs international exchange programs and cultural training programs that match visitors from all over the world with prominent Capitol region organizations and local hosts. WTCI is the premier organization which administers the International Visitors Leadership Program for the entire state of Maryland on behalf of the U.S. State Department and the Community Connections program in behalf of the U. S. Agency for International Development. The programs seek to build understanding between the United States and people from other countries through carefully designed professional itineraries that discuss best practices in various fields. The program helps foreign countries build stronger institutions and promote democratic principles of governance as well as improve American foreign relations one handshake at a time.
