Mission Statement

Located on the grounds of Saint John the Baptist Church in Fairview New Jersey, the Franciscan Community Development Center of Fairview is a non-denominational, Christian-based, Pro-life organization based on the Gospel principles of love, understanding, compassion and repentance. The Center will be inclusive and respectful of all faith traditions, and will not discriminate against anyone. The Center's mission is a gallant endeavor to provide a wide range of pro bono educational, organizing, and advocacy programs along with health, social and legal services. O ur programs are designed to address and alleviate the many issues of poverty and disenfranchisement that control the lives of the vulnerable populations, the poor, the underprivileged, the immigrants women ,children and, senior populations .


The Franciscan Community Development Center, Inc. will provide essential services to, the poor, the underprivileged, the immigrants, women, children and, senior, specifically in Fairview and Cliffside.

The agency has recently completed renovation of two structures located on the property of St. John's Church at 239 Anderson Avenue from which to provide service. The first structure is a 2,400 square foot garage which has been converted into a food pantry. The second structure is a 5,000+ square foot bingo hall converted for use as a "The Center". Currently the Center hosts a health screening clinic run by the North Hudson Community Action Program and a quarterly immigration assistance program in collaboration with the Guatemalan Consulate and Legal services by Northeast New Jersey Legal Services as well as NJ Legal Services.

A total of 3,000 men, women and children who depend on the Center as their lifeline will be served. They are Korean, Croatian, Latino, East Indian and Caribbean.
