Mission - After three years, the Quad Cities Missing Persons Network (QCMPN) has decided to develop a third division of the nonprofit. This branch of the network is known as The Treasure Chest. The Treasure Chest will assist Quad Cities Missing Persons Network and QC Pay It Forward (QCPIF) service programs by providing a physical location for the provision of aid of the QCMPN and QCPIF service programs, in accordance with the Quad Cities Missing Persons Network values and core vision. Vision - The Treasure Chest will work to provide further service to the community in several ways. It will serve as a collection and distribution site for donated goods that meet acceptance criteria of the organization, enable QC Pay It Forward to provide financial grants to individuals and organizations in need who meet the selection standards, and serve as referral source to other social agencies.
The Treasure Chest will be run by volunteers and sell goods donated to the nonprofit. The resale store will also fund the needs of the Quad Cities Missng Persons Network and QC Pay It Forward.
The Treasure Chest is in need of volunteers to help run the store.
The grand opening of the store is set for Dec. 10. Volunteers are now in the process of cleaning and preparing the new spacem, but more volunteers are still needed to manage and run the store.
