Mission Statement

A Horse Connection is a 501(c)(3) not for profit organization whose mission is to improve the quality of life for people with special needs by offering innovative horse related therapy and activities. A Horse Connection provides equine assisted therapy, including hippotherapy services to individuals and groups with special needs throughout the Hudson Valley.

Description

Volunteers are crucial to A Horse Connection. We simply could not provide services without them. A Horse Connection provides full training for interested volunteers. In addition to a two-part required training course, we view volunteer training as an ongoing process, which allows for greater teamwork, fosters increased participation, and is known to be rewarding and fulfilling. Volunteer roles include sidewalkers, horse leaders, horse grooming and fundraising activities. Volunteers may or may not have experience with horses. Our only requirement is a love of horses, people and desire to learn.
