Mission Statement

The Tuolumne River Trust is the voice for the river. We are protecting and restoring a world class river, ensuring that it is healthy and vibrant, teeming with fish and wildlife. We are committed to preserving its beauty, wildness and majesty, nurturing the lives that depend on it, restoring its sacred salmon runs and holding it safely in trust as a refuge for our children and grandchildren to enjoy. We want every person who benefits from the Tuolumne's water to know that their food was grown from its water, their tap water comes from it, their wild salmon were hatched in its gravels, and their backpacking, fishing and rafting trip depends on its health.

Description

We pride ourselves on being a well-rounded organization made up of talented, resourceful people who love the Tuolumne. We are well respected in the community because we are a truly watershed-wide organization that believes in collaborating with diverse groups of people to find workable solutions for the River. We are dependable, both fiscally and scientifically, and committed to implementing strategies that deliver results. With offices in Sonora, Modesto, and San Francisco, the Trust's staff of 13 along with our volunteer network and activist base, are putting down roots throughout the watershed and providing the capacity necessary to achieve our vision.
