Mission Statement

ASPIRE stands for Access to Student assistance Programs In Reach of Everyone. This program is an extension of Clackamas High School's counseling department and provides students with one-on-one assistance. The ASPIRE program trains volunteers from the community to help students think about career goals and access education and training beyond high school. These volunteer ASPIRE Advisors want to help students to have a successful transition into their preferred field after high school graduation.

Description

We will provide training that will enable you to guide students on their path to post-secondary education.

Mentors assist students with:

§ Meeting high school graduation and college entrance requirements

§ Preparation for standardized testing

§ College selection and application process

§ Essay writing

§ Financial aid and finding scholarships

§ Setting goals and staying on track

As a mentor, you would be assigned one to five students based on how much time you have available. Mentors meet with each student at least once a month for up to one hour, depending on the schedule and needs of the student. We would prefer to have a commitment for the entire school year, but are willing to be flexible.
