Description

Background: At the 2008 session of the California-Pacific Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church, a resolution was passed entitled: "Response to Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE) Raids and Detention". This resolution called upon the U.S. government to put an end to indefinite detention, deportation and raids on undocumented immigrants. In addition, this conference committed itself to work for a just, humane and comprehensive reform of immigration laws. In response to this resolution, the Immigration Task Force was created to address immigration concerns.

Consequently, Cal-Pac Neighborhood Immigration Clinic was established in the year 2010 to provide access to reliable, free immigration services such as the following:

  • Know Your Rights Seminar.
  • Immigration consultations with qualified immigration attorneys.
  • Referrals to free or low-cost immigration legal services providers.
  • Free legal assistance on Form N-400 (applications for naturalization).

These services are provided at no cost through our monthly clinics in various underserved areas of the Los Angeles County.

Cal-Pac NIC is a non-profit organization and works in conjunctions with different United Methodist Churches who are known as Immigrant Welcome Centers. These congregations open their doors to host our clinics and provide various resources to immigrant communities.
