Meals on Wheels of Greater Hyde Park, Inc.

Description

For people who reside in the Hyde Park Central School District, in the mid-Hudson Valley of New York, hot, nutritious meals are available on a continuous or short term basis for mature adults who find it hard to plan, shop and prepare nutritious meals for themselves. Meals are delivered daily Monday through Friday 11:45 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Meals can be prepared with special diet considerations including, diabetic, low fat, low salt, low sugar, low cholesterol, pureed and chopped. Our not for profit agency is not affiliated with any national, state or county not for profit or governmental agency and we receive all our support from nominal meal payments and the generous donational support of community residents, religious and community organizations. We have only two paid part time staff with the remainder of our agency staff volunteers. Our agency functions with the help of almost 100 dedicated drivers, packers, kitchen aides and staff that conduct initial interviews of our clients.
