Mission Statement

The African American Empowerment Initiative( AAEI )is a non-profit community based organization whose goal is to provide African American young men with direction, apprenticeship and recreational outlets needed to empower them to become successful men in an ever changing world. It's mission is to foster opportunities to inculate a culture of achievement primarily among school aged children. An integral part of our mission is an awareness of positive self image development.

Description

The African American Empowerment Initiative runs three programs. these programs are intended to stimulate, encourage, instruct and enhance the development of their skills. These programs are free to all NYC school children. Mentoring Works Program This program will have speakers visit schools and address grades 6 thru 12. We Are the Future Program. This program seeks to match students with businesses providing internships opportunities. Students will intern and learn various operations of a company. The Ties That Bind Us Together Program. Family nuturing from a father is very important. This program's goal is to facilate stronger relationships between men and their children by providing trips to such places as amusement parks, musems, ballparks and college tours.
