Description
The LULAC National Educational Service Center (LNESC), MODEL (Mentoring Opens Doors for Emerging Leaders) Program serves fourth through eigth grade students through on-site based mentoring. Students have the opportunity to be matched with a mentor, receive academic assistance, attend group field trips, participate in empowering workshops, and build life skills. With the assistance of mentors, the MODEL program helps students gain confidence, motivation, and improve their academic performance. The cost-free MODEL program runs year-round, and provides youth with consistent encouragement from their mentors and LNESC program staff.
