Mission Statement

Silicon Valley Talent Partnership brokers and manages innovative partnerships between skills-based volunteers and civic agencies to innovate government services. SVTP manages partnerships that help at-risk populations including underserved youth, immigrant small business owners and the homeless. Acting as program architect, we work with schools, cities, and the county of Santa Clara to bind the private sector talent with the needs of the public sector in order to build stronger communities. Through programs in technology, education, and community, SVTP works with 7 cities, numerous public agencies, non-profit organizations, and a plethora of expert professionals from the private sector to bridge the opportunity gap and improve the overall quality of life of residents and communities across Silicon Valley.

Description

SVTP was founded by Chuck Reed, the former mayor of San Jose and Carl Guardino, the CEO of the Silicon Valley Leadership Group in 2013. As of July 2016, in collaboration with 4 schools districts and 50 corporate partners, Silicon Valley Talent Partnership has implemented 36 projects to benefit the community. 710 volunteers contributed more than 10,000 hours with a total value of $1.28M across 7 cities.
