PetConnect Rescue (PCR) is an animal welfare organization dedicated to saving dogs and cats at high risk of euthanasia. Our compassionate fosters, volunteers, and staff find loving homes for all the animals that come into our care and provide ongoing support throughout the adoption process and beyond. Position Overview: Our adoptable dogs and cats need your help to put their best paw forward! Become a Social Media Photographer/Videographer, and you will become the visual storyteller of our mission-capturing the magic and moments that bring joy and awareness to our cause. PCR recognizes that powerful, positive images and videos enhance our connection to new and current stakeholders across the organization. While all volunteers share this storytelling role, we rely on our skilled volunteer photographers and videographers to create quality content that visually articulates our mission. Key Responsibilities: Coordinate with fosters, volunteers, and staff to capture photos and videos of our rescue animals, either at the foster’s home, a public meeting place, or at one of our events Capture candid and staged shots of rescue animals, adopters, and volunteers Collaborate with our social media team to provide them with a steady flow of captivating visual content Ensure original unedited files are properly uploaded to their designated folder on the organization’s Google Drive Qualifications: Proficiency in photography and/or videography with access to your own equipment. Please note modern smartphones can be used in place of DSLR cameras. A creative eye for capturing emotional and compelling moments. An understanding of photography techniques, including lighting, composition, and formatting. Passion for animal welfare and a genuine interest in our organization's mission Strong communication and time management skills to coordinate effectively with the Advancement Manager and social media team. Being a new volunteer can be tough-where do you go? What do you do? At PetConnect Rescue, our Welcoming Committee provides support and encouragement for our new volunteers by assisting them in finding their first volunteer opportunity. As a member of the Welcoming Committee, you will be tasked with connecting with new volunteers over the phone, via email, or through virtual conversations to learn a little about their interests, skills, and experience and match them to the perfect volunteer opportunity. You will also periodically connect with that volunteer to check in on their progress and answer general questions about PCR, other ways they can get involved, and more. You are the first person most volunteers will connect with from PCR, so setting a fantastic impression is vital! These skills are absolutely essential to executing this role: Palpable passion for supporting PCR’s mission to find loving homes for all the animals in our care. Energetic, friendly, and warm personality to create a welcoming environment for new volunteers to learn about our work Attention to detail and strong follow-through-if you tell a new volunteer you will do something, meet those commitments. Active listening skills and knowledge of the variety of opportunities available with PCR to make successful matches Flexibility and adaptability-not every first match will be the right match for that particular volunteer. Be willing to come back to the drawing board, try something new, and encourage the volunteer along the process. Project managers, HR professionals, and anyone who just wants to see others succeed and have positive volunteer experiences are the perfect candidates for this role! We anticipate that individuals would, on average, serve 1-2 hours per week virtually connecting with volunteers. Join our team as a Social Media Ambassador and play a vital role in spreading brand awareness and engaging our communities on Facebook and Instagram. We are seeking enthusiastic individuals who can actively participate in our online discussions, provide valuable information to our followers, and promote our social media posts. Key Responsibilities: Like and comment on PCR posts Share PCR posts, stories, and reels with personal followers and relevant FB groups Monitor comments and questions on PCR posts and provide timely and helpful responses to inquiries Initiate conversations and discussions in PCR-owned Facebook groups to foster a sense of community and connection *Please note that all key responsibilities above are to be conducted from the social media ambassador’s personal Facebook and Instagram accounts. Join our volunteer team as a Content Creator and play a pivotal role in amplifying our message across various platforms. We are seeking a creative individual who can generate impactful posts, collaborate with internal stakeholders, and keep up with social media trends to keep our content fresh and relevant. Key Responsibilities : Develop posts regularly or on an ad hoc basis, utilizing existing content or sourcing material from fosters, adoption coordinators, or adopters. Monitor social media trends and recommend ideas to the team for reels and creative posts that align with our organization's mission and values. Collaborate closely with the Advancement Manager and other team members to establish content calendars, timelines, and deliverables. Maintain a consistent brand voice and aesthetic across all content channels.
