Open Table transforms homelessness and poverty into stability and wholeness, one life at a time. We equip and mentor faith-based communities to develop and implement economic stability and wholeness plans for our impoverished brothers and sisters who want to take an active role in creating their future.
Open Table began by helping groups and congregations focus on helping the impoverished and homeless to restore themselves to self-sufficiency. Each Table is a group of volunteers that collaborates with organizations and acts as a team of life specialists, encouragers and advocates. Working together with a homeless individual or family, a Table overcomes obstacles that prevent the achievement of stability and self-sufficiency. Open Table's (OT) Neighborhood Roots System (NRS) is a breakthrough collaboration developed with the City of Phoenix Police Department, the City of Phoenix Human Services Department (HSD) and business and non-profit sectors to transform faith communities into catalysts for neighborhood and community renewal. The NRS equips and mentors faith communities to develop business plans for their neighborhoods to be implemented through partnerships with corporations, government and other non-profits. These business plans enhance safety, access services that improve health and wellness, drive economic growth for the neighborhood and empower disadvantaged youth and families to engage in the positive life of their community.
