Mission Statement

The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary is the uniformed civilian all-volunteer arm of the United States Coast Guard. With nearly 30,000 members, the Auxiliary actively provides coastal safety patrols and safety patrols in marinas & ports. We regularly meet with the boating public at marinas and in classrooms. We also directly assist the U.S. Coast Guard in non-law enforcement programs such as search and rescue, and marine environmental protection and boat safety. Patrolling Santa Monica Bay and based at California Yacht Club, Flotilla 12-42 is seeking new volunteers to assist in a wide range of programs such as Marine Safety Patrols, Boater Education, Marine Wildlife Preservation, and Port Security.
