Our mission is providing fully immersive enrichment programs for young girls 9, 10 and 11. Our programs serve to empower girls through positive identity formation, character development and community service connections as they approach one of the most difficult and rapidly changing times in their overall development as women: adolescence. To this end, we have partnered with many community business owners and professionals enabling us to provide unique and meaningful learning experiences, outside the classroom, improving the trajectory of their future choices. Program curriculum are uniquely designed with the girls’ interests in mind with a primary focus on inspiring passion to drive perseverance, aka: grit. Our programs encourage fun and inclusive opportunities for young girls and their families to connect with mentors from all walks of life; creating community relationships that will promote the safe and healthy realization of each participant’s limitless potentials.
Grace in the Mud envisions a gender balanced equal opportunity future of true community. Public health studies show a scientific link between adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) and the onset of physical and mental health disorder in adults. Girls are twice as likely as boys to encounter adverse childhood experiences that will negatively impact the trajectory of their futures before the age of 18. Grace in the Mud establishes a foundation for long-term success by incorporating into its curriculum ACEs evaluations, self-care practices shown to develop resilience and continued exposure to areas of interest with ample mentorship.
