Mission Statement

Our mission is to provide practical, neighbor-to-neighbors expressions of God's love.

Our hope is that by serving marginalized homeowners throughout the City of Fort Wayne that we would be facilitating neighborhood and community development. Our projects provide our volunteers practical way to reach out and serve those suffering from life's circumstances and are unable to complete those projects under their own physical ability.

Description

We are a grassroots, web based organization that allows anyone to seek free assistance and anyone to get involved in providing that assistance. Our projects are based around home maintenance and repair issues.

Our entire organization is facilitated on the web. From project posting to selection. We're one of the easiest ways to connect to community service in Fort Wayne. All you have to do is register as a volunteer or a coach on our site, tell us how you connected to NeighborLink and then you're set to select the projects you desire to complete.

We desire to equip you to serve in a sustainable way that will change the way you see your neighborhood and community and consider how you can get involved through personal interaction with homeowners in need.

Neighborlink is a great local organization focused on giving back to fellow community members that need assistance with projects that they do not have the financial or physical ability to do themselves. Of the few projects I have worked, the experience has been very rewarding. You get to meet new people in your neighborhood while sharing your talents with them. The website is very easy to use and the projects can range from introductory skill level to intermediate. You can choose projects that meet your skill set and that you are comfortable in doing. Some examples of projects are, yard work - mowing, raking leaves, cleaning up limbs, etc, handyman work - flooring, painting, plumbing, general construction, etc. I most recently helped a disabled elderly person install a window ac unit in his house trailer. What a difference the AC will do for his breathing difficulties! You should really check out the projects listed on the website!
