The Development Committee is composed of Board and community members with an interest in leading the effort to ensure the financial health of PEBCC by working with the Board to achieve PEBCC’s fundraising success, to increase visibility, and to strengthen community connection. This Committee works closely with PEBCC’s Development Manager and Executive Director. Specific functions include: Helps nurture a culture of philanthropy throughout the organization, and assures that all donations of time and money are respected and honored. Works with the Executive Director, Development staff, and the Board to develop and implement the annual development work plan aligned with the PEBCC mission and strategic plan and in support of PEBCC’s program, budget and annual fundraising goals. Reviews initial fundraising projections from management (Development staff, Finance Director and Executive Director) and makes recommendations to the Finance Committee relating to them. Development Committee members hold the Board accountable to its fundraising obligations and lead by example by understanding and performing the action items required from each Board member to meet contributed income goals. Works with Development staff to best keep Board members informed and engaged in fundraising and community awareness activities. Facilitates Board’s efforts in providing knowledge about, and engaging in, fundraising planning and overall outreach efforts by identifying opportunities to increase revenue from individuals, corporations, and foundations. These efforts include cultivation of potential donors/organizations and introducing them to PEBCC. Champions fundraising activities such as annual campaigns, special events/Benefit, donor and cultivation receptions, house parties, etc. Supports Board member involvement in development and community outreach efforts by assisting them with setting and achieving their own personal fundraising goals, involvement in events and meetings that foster successful fundraising efforts, and presenting PEBCC to others within their networks. Facilitates communication between staff and Board of timely information and tools to successfully support Board’s participation in initiatives and other development and community engagement efforts. Reports regularly to the Board on the Committee’s activities. Establishes and supports internal subcommittees and/or ad hoc task forces to advise on planning of events and other activities, including the Benefit Auxiliary Committee for the annual Benefit Concert and Auction.

The Finance Committee is the fiduciary arm of the Board and keeps the board informed of all financial related matters of the Organization. The committee provides oversight, review and expertise to ensure the financial health and well-being of PEBCC as an organization including monthly/annual operations, as well as future planning. The committee coordinates on financial issues with the Executive Director and Finance Director, and ensures that all financial related initiatives are scheduled, followed through and delivered. Committee Membership Committee members should have financial, real estate, non-profit management or other related expertise that they can bring to PEBCC to complement the Executive Director and Finance Director. Specific Functions Include Review and approve the annual budget and budget narrative Monitor financial performance as compared to plan, and advise management on mid-course corrections as necessary Review cash flow and forecast reports Review investments and make recommendations to the Board with support of the Executive Director and Finance Director. Develops policies and procedures for managing and developing the Board Designated Operating Reserves and Board Endowment funds Oversee the Executive Director and Finance Director in adhering to statutory requirements, including County and Federal filings Review existing financial policies and update as necessary Provide financial expertise and help resolve financial irregularities Participate in long-range planning and advise on the long-term financial stability of the organization Review and approve the audit and annual 990 Work with Finance Director and Executive Director to prepare and present financial reports to the Board of Directors

Mission Statement
The mission of the Piedmont East Bay Children's Choir is to provide children, actively recruited from throughout the East Bay, with a dynamic education in choral music that emphasizes ensemble performance, vocal technique and music theory, in conjunction with the creative exploration of new music. Through their participation, the children build skills, confidence and character, emerging as confident, accomplished young adults.
Description
The Piedmont East Bay Children's Choir (formerly The Piedmont Choirs) consists of 324 children, ages 5-18, in 12 choirs drawn from 76 schools in 17 cities. The Choir performs more than 50 concerts a year, tours, commissions new choral works, and hosts an international children's choral festival. We have sung with top professional groups, won prizes at global choral competitions, and earned a reputation as one of the finest children's choirs anywhere.
