Volunteers are needed at O'Hare Airport to provide information and support for travelers. Volunteers are positioned throughout O’Hare Airport, where they offer help to passengers in need of information or assistance. Volunteers also may occasionally leave their station to provide protective travel services to vulnerable or at-risk passengers who need guidance, support, or advocacy as they move through the airport. We ask that volunteers are able to volunteer a minimum of two shifts per month. Shifts are Saturdays and Sundays from 10:00 am - 2:30pm and from 2:30-7PM. Travelers Aid Chicago provides crisis intervention, information, and social services to travelers and visitors at Chicago 's O'Hare International Airport. The Travelers Aid office is located inside security in Terminal 2 with 6 satellite locations in Terminals 1, 2, 3, and 5. Travelers Aid is a program of Heartland Human Care Services. Information desk volunteers are positioned at one of 9 information desks throughout O’Hare Airport, 2 of which are in the international terminal, where they offer help to passengers in need of information or assistance. Volunteers also may occasionally leave the booth to provide protective travel services to vulnerable or at-risk passengers who need guidance, support, or advocacy as they move through the airport. Each volunteer must complete a background check to obtain an O'Hare badge to pass through security checkpoints.

This is an excellent opportunity for one or two people (couples, spouses) who want to work together helping people and exercising at the same time! Travelers Aid Chicago provides crisis intervention, information and social services to travelers and visitors of Chicago's O'Hare International Airport. Travelers Aid Chicago provides crisis intervention, information, and social services to travelers and visitors at Chicago's O'Hare International Airport. Volunteers at Travelers Aid are assigned to a specific terminal either inside security or outside security depending on the need. Volunteers move around to different high-traffic confusion points, identifying and assisting travelers in need of assistance. Volunteers are also stationed at informational desks throughout the airport, providing basic resources and referral informational about the airport and the city of Chicago. Volunteers watch for and provide extra assistance to vulnerable passengers travelers through O'Hare. Training is provided for all volunteer opportunities. Most Travelers Aid volunteers work one shift per week. Our shifts are any day Monday through Friday, 8AM-12:30PM or 12:30-4:30PM or 4:30-8PM. On Saturdays we have shifts from 10:00am - 2:30pm and from 2:30pm - 7 pm. On Sundays we have shifts from 10 am - 2:30 pm and from 2:30 pm - 7 pm. Travelers Aid requires volunteers to have regular schedules and put in a minimum of two shifts per month to keep badges current.
