Mission Statement

As ICO enters our third year we remain committed to bringing professional opera productions at affordable prices to the Alameda community. We strive to show veteran opera-goers and novices alike the wonderful experience of great opera in an intimate setting, to be a showcase for talented artists and directors and develop young artists and technical theater personnel in our community. We try to help new audiences discover the excitement of opera, identify with the characters and plots, and feel the power of the music of opera.

Description

Island City Opera performs grand opera classics and other operas locally in Alameda, CA at the Elks Lodge Ballroom. We perform 2 opera productions a year, and most of our singers are from San Francisco Opera. We also run fundraisers, free opera in the park, and other local musical events
