Anova Hospice Palliative Care Services, LLC provides an individualized program of physical, emotional, spiritual, and practical care for people in the last phases of a life-limiting illness, with an emphasis on control of pain and other symptoms.

Description

Anova is a provider of Home Health and Hospice Services

The Hospice program is reflective of a spirit and idea of caring that emphasizes comfort and dignity for the dying, making it possible for them to remain independent for as long as possible, and in familiar surroundings. Hospice care is centered on the lifestyle, values, and wishes of both the patient and family/caregiver. Utilizing a team approach of physicians, nurses, social workers, hospice aides, volunteers, spiritual counselors, bereavement counselors, and others we provide in-home care, short-term inpatient services, mobilization and coordination of ancillary services and bereavement support.

I enjoy volunteering for Anova and their clients because I get a chance to socialize with and help people in their homes. Since we are working together I get to know them very well, and I enjoy learning about their life and the things that are meaningful to them.The clients are very appreciative of my efforts to help them with small things.The time commitment on my part only amounts to about 4 hours per week, and Anova has been very considerate in trying to keep my travel time to the clients home to around a half an hour's drive. Anova serves their clients needs at an important time in their lives, as it is a hospice health care provider. It might seem easy to imagine that this setting is a very stressful circumstance, but I have found that to my suprise in all my volunteer experiences with Anova clients, that they seem to be very peaceful people,and are very pleased to relate to me in a calm manner,and have no unusual requests.
