Bringing the patient close with care, by bringing the care to them.

Our volunteers at Serene Care are utilized for companionship for our patients, spending time with them and doing things such as: coloring, painting, talking, helping during meal times, reading to them, etc. All of our patients have a diagnosis of 6 months or less to live, so your time with them is utilized for quality of life and helping them know that there are people who genuinely care for them. Our patients reside in assisted livings and in their own homes. Visits are very relaxing and consists of general conversation, listening to music, playing card games, etc. Volunteers visit their assigned patient(s) at their own convenience but we request a minimum of two visits a month for at least 30 minutes at a time, if you desire to visit more frequently or for longer periods of time that is wonderful!. It is a really great, flexible and beneficial program. Must be 18.

We are looking for Volunteers in the Omaha, Lincoln, and Fremont areas.

I began my internship for my Bachelor's program here in January 2019. I am now, as of March 4, a full time employee and have felt so welcomed by this amazing staff.
