Mission Statement

To inspire students to pursue careers in engineering, science, tehcnology, and math through participation in a sports-like science and engineering based robotics competition.

Description

Dallas BEST Robotics (Boosting Engineering, Science, and Technology) is part of a national, non-profit, volunteer based program functioning through participation in an annual sports-like competition between teams of high school students working with teacher "coaches" and industry engineering/technical volunteers acting in mentoring roles. Each team designs, constructs, documents, and tests their robot against other teams in an effort to perform assigned tasks. All teams are issued identical material kits and must use only those materials in their construction. The top teams in the local competition are invited to participate at the regional event where they compete against the winners from the other local events. Dallas BEST is the local "hub" tasked to organize and execute the first stage competition. Dallas BEST has had several schools from locations generally in and near Dallas County, Texas, extending east to the Louisana and Arkansas state lines. Additional details for the program can be found on our hub website at: www.dallas-best.org ; the regional organization website at: www.texasbest.org ; and the national organization website at: www.bestinc.org .
