Mission Statement
Our goal is removing obstacles and tearing down walls that prevent Chicano and U.S. born citizens from being successful in life. ChEECo is committed to empowering and enriching U.S. born Latino and Chicano individuals and families; youth services and activities; preserving culture and providing community services to Chicanos or American-born Latinos. Description
ChEECo assists American-born Latinos with a variety of community services aimed at combating crime, cultural issues, social & civic responsibilities, homelessness, literacy and unemployment rates.
Housing: obtaining housing, negotiating leases, landlord-tenant mediation, rent assistance, move in costs, and other costs.
Employment: refer clients for employment, aid with any required clothing, equipment or supplies for positions, offer classes in resume writing, & mock interviews.
Education: encourage GED, High School Diploma or further their education through colleges or universities, assist with financial aid paperwork, provide vouchers for school supplies.
Drug/Alcohol Treatment: referrals to D/A assessments, counseling, and treatment.
Family Services: provide family, anger management, domestic violence and youth at-risk counseling.
Legal Aid: provide assistance in child welfare/CPS cases, protection orders, divorce/separation filing, guardianship/custody/child support cases, criminal reporting and other legal referrals and assistance.
Convict Aid: Help convicts with services, work with DOC/Probation, prevent reoffending by helping them overcome obstacles.
We plan community & cultural events, fundraisers; work at keeping youth involved in positive matters to build confidence, education level, pride.
