Mission Statement

Shascade Community Services (SCS) provides support and assistance to people with disabilities and their families, enabling individuals with physical or intellectual disabilities to live, work, learn, and socialize in their community. SCS endeavors to provide services which are not otherwise available to people with disabilities within the California counties of Shasta, Tehama, Trinity and Siskiyou. SCS services are designed to promote individual maturity and the development of functional skills. Through the provision of specialized support and assistance by professional employees, relatives, peers, co-workers and neighbors, community-based services and the development of opportunities for people with disabilities to live, work, learn, and socialize in natural settings promote independence and family life. SCS volunteers, employees and Consumers will advocate for the rights of people with disabilities and facilitate self-advocacy on the part of individuals with disabilities
